The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) Lebanon is a private Catholic institution for tertiary education founded and ran by Lebanese Maronite Order (LMO) with the aim of providing a tertiary education that is closely allied to scientific research. Given its Near Eastern environment, USEK ensures, in addition to the promotion of universal humanist values, the maintenance and development of the cultural and artistic heritage and traditions distinctive to Lebanon and the Near East.

As a permanent cultural workplace, USEK has never ceased, since its foundation in 1961, to keep itself in tune with its times by introducing robust development in order to be a favorable location for the efflorescence of the liberal exercise of reason and a communal space where the training of critical thought can take place.

Faithful to the traditions of its founders, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik has as its mission the education of young adults entrusted to it, wherever they come from, with neither discrimination nor exclusion. As a national institution, USEK aligns its teaching and curricula with those officially required by the Lebanese State thus guaranteeing the degrees which it grants. It aims to promote a quality of academic and professional education in response to the wish expressed in the "Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation": "It is strongly advisable to educate persons to a high level of qualification who will be capable of bringing their country into all areas of international life, for we are currently witnessing a greater and greater globalization of all the social phenomena", and a civic education which allows young adults to identify themselves with their country whilst becoming aware of the complex reality of their society and of its regulating principles.
